Dear Sir,

I am sorry that the very first letter that I am writing to you is a complaint. Your children come to my garden every day and pluck flowers. They play about and run, and trample and crush tender plants. I do not mind their playing in the lawn. In fact, I love to hear their peals of laughter. But it pains me to see the flowers being plucked and the beds being spoiled. Gardening is my favorite hobby. Flowers and plants, somehow, appear to be living beings to me. I hope you will appreciate why I am so sensitive about them.

In my own way, I have tried to keep the children away from the garden. But because I am a bachelor, I have to be out of my home on several occasions. I do not have a gardener who may work for me on a regular basis and keep the children away.

Hence, I request you to explain to them that what they do is not decent for good children. Please do tell them that flowers are things of beauty. Hence they must not be plucked. Plucking of flowers mars the beauty of my garden too.

Thanking you,

Yours truly,

Parth.
