Letter to Father Telling him how you hope to fare in Exams

My dear Father,
As I write to you this letter my mind is torn by anxieties about the examination which I am taking now. I am reminded of the story of the ant and the cricket. I did not work hard as I should have done. Secondly, my illness just near the examination also prevented me from working hard. It does not, however, mean that I shall disappoint you altogether; Today’s paper was rather easy and I am sure of getting at least 60% marks in it. But my dream of getting a distinction will be broken because I am not well prepared for Civics and Hindi. I might get pass marks in these subjects in some way. As you have always taught me not to look to the dark side of life, I shall do my utmost to acquit myself as creditably as possible.
Jai Pal Singhal.
